REDMOND, Wash., and RALEIGH, N.C. — Nov. 4, 2015 — Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq “MSFT”) and Red Hat Inc. (NYSE: RHT) on Wednesday announced a partnership that will help customers embrace hybrid cloud computing by providing greater choice and flexibility deploying Red Hat solutions on Microsoft Azure. As a key component of today’s announcement, Microsoft is offering Red Hat Enterprise Linux as the preferred choice for enterprise Linux workloads on Microsoft Azure. In addition, Microsoft and Red Hat are also working together to address common enterprise, ISV and developer needs for building, deploying and managing applications on Red Hat software across private and public clouds.
The two companies will host a webcast at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, to share more details.
Key elements of the partnership include the following:
  • Red Hat solutions available natively to Microsoft Azure customers. In the coming weeks, Microsoft Azure will become a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, enabling customers to run their Red Hat Enterprise Linux applications and workloads on Microsoft Azure. Red Hat Cloud Access subscribers will be able to bring their own virtual machine images to run in Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure customers can also take advantage of the full value of Red Hat’s application platform, including Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat JBoss Web Server, Red Hat Gluster Storage and OpenShift, Red Hat’s platform-as-a-service offering. In the coming months, Microsoft and Red Hat plan to provide Red Hat On-Demand — “pay-as-you-go” Red Hat Enterprise Linux images available in the Azure Marketplace, supported by Red Hat.
  • Integrated enterprise-grade support spanning hybrid environments. Customers will be offered cross-platform, cross-company support spanning the Microsoft and Red Hat offerings in an integrated way, unlike any previous partnership in the public cloud. By co-locating support teams on the same premises, the experience will be simple and seamless, at cloud speed.
  • Unified workload management across hybrid cloud deployments. Red Hat CloudForms will interoperate with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager, offering Red Hat CloudForms customers the ability to manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux on both Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure. Support for managing Azure workloads from Red Hat CloudForms is expected to be added in the next few months, extending the existing System Center capabilities for managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Collaboration on .NET for a new generation of application development capabilities. Expanding on the preview of .NET on Linux announced by Microsoft in April, developers will have access to .NET technologies across Red Hat offerings, including Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, jointly backed by Microsoft and Red Hat. Red Hat Enterprise Linux will be the primary development and reference operating system for .NET Core on Linux.
“This partnership is a powerful win for enterprises, ISVs and developers,” said Scott Guthrie, executive vice president for Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise division. “With this partnership, we are expanding our commitment to offering unmatched choice and flexibility in the cloud today, meeting customers where they are so they can do more with their hybrid cloud deployments — all while fulfilling the rigorous security and scalability requirements that enterprises demand.”
“The datacenter is heterogeneous, and the cloud is hybrid,” said Paul Cormier, president, Products and Technologies, Red Hat. “With Red Hat and the leader in enterprise cloud workloads joining forces, our customers are the winners today, as we unite on common solutions to help them solve challenges in this hybrid cloud. Together, we’re offering the most comprehensive support agreement for our mixed technologies to support customers.”
Additional information on the partnership is available on The Official Microsoft Blog and the Red Hat Blog. A live webcast with executives from both companies will begin at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST Wednesday and can be accessed by the general public at https://vts.inxpo.com/Launch/QReg.htm?ShowKey=28455. Following executive remarks, there will be a question and answer session. A replay of the webcast will be available shortly after the live event has ended.

nikki-fairchildNikki Fairchild joined the Managed Solution team as a Business Development Manager on October 13, 2015. Nikki joins us with eight years of experience in B2B sales with a background in cabling and telecommunications. She's excited to join the team at Managed Solution.
Nikki is originally from Danbury, Connecticut where she started her career for Charter Communications for several years before moving to San Diego and getting job with Cox. Nikki has lived in San Diego for four years now and calls it home but still tries to make visits back east to visit family often, recently taking a trip to Maine to visit her mother and youngest sister. They enjoyed kayaking on the bay, whale-watching and catching fresh lobster on their lobster boat. Maine lobster, family and friends are things Nikki misses from back east, but says she’s been working on recruiting her east coast friends and family out west, finally convincing one of her sisters to move to San Diego last year along with their childhood friend.
The former high school wrestler now enjoys singing, playing piano, writing poetry and bike riding on her time off along with spending time with her puppy Jake. She found Jake alone on the streets in San Diego – when she contacted his owners she found out he was actually raised in the town next to where she grew up back east. Nikki rescued Jake and now both of the Connecticut natives are happy living in sunny San Diego together.
Please join me in welcoming Nikki Fairchild to the Managed Solution team!

connie bond managed solution

With an extensive background in IT, Connie Bond joined the Managed Solution team as a Project Manager on September 8, 2015. She is a jack of all trades and started working in IT when she was 18 years old and has had experience in technical support, networking, programming, software, hardware as well as web design. Connie's excited to use her extensive IT background and expertise to oversee IT projects for Managed Solution.
Connie is originally from Batavia, a small town outside of Chicago. When a job offer with a global company gave her the opportunity to choose her territory, she selected San Diego even though she had never visited before. She wanted to experience a new location, one with nice weather. Twenty-one years later Connie is still very happy living in beautiful San Diego, where she met her husband and started her family. Connie met her husband Mike while she was enjoying the outdoors on a run at Lake Miramar. They have been happily married and have their sixteen year anniversary closely approaching. Along with Mike, Connie has a 21 year old stepson William, three Jack Russell rescue pups, a 35 year old parrot and a fish named Budda.
Connie is really outgoing and enjoys new adventures and experiences. When she was twenty-five years old she took a six month journey around the United States on her own to explore. Having been to so many great places it was hard for her to choose a favorite, but after some thought she said Kauai, Hawaii was one of the best places she's been to because it's great for outdoor adventures and has a peaceful relaxing energy. Besides working in IT, Connie is a Reiki Master and has been practicing for over two years. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
Connie is excited for her new chapter with Managed Solution and we are delighted to have her on board! Please join us in welcoming her to the team.

adxstudio managed solution

Organizations today are looking for new and different ways to better connect, support and engage with their customers. People increasingly rely on channels like Web portals to make sure their voice is heard – in fact this year, Forrester research uncovered that for the first time, Web self-service is now the most popular channel customers use to find help. Microsoft is committed to delivering intelligent customer engagement solutions to empower people and organizations to use these new channels to more effectively connect with their customers online.
Today we took another step toward fulfilling this commitment. I’m pleased to announce that Microsoft has reached a definitive agreement to acquire key product and technology assets of Adxstudio Inc., a provider of Web portals, online engagement solutions and application lifecycle management solutions for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. With this acquisition of our long-time partner, our customers will immediately be able to take advantage of new and exciting ways to engage with customers online.
Packed with compelling features that extend Dynamics CRM to the Web, Adxstudio Web portals are built natively on Dynamics CRM, allowing our customers to easily connect and extend their key sales and customer services business processes online. These portals work with the CRM application easily and naturally for both online and on-premises customers, who can take advantage of this offering right away. Adxstudio portals can also be used along with our Parature Service thanks to native integration with Parature’s rich knowledge management solutions.
This acquisition also delivers pre-built engagement solutions including partner relationship management for organizations who sell through partner channels; technical support solutions for high tech and software development organizations; and online citizen engagement for public sector organizations. Each of these solutions will be available for all Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers and can be used both on-premises and in the cloud.
Finally, this acquisition will empower our own customers as well as our strong partner ecosystem as it will accelerate our efforts to enable customers and independent software vendors (ISVs) to build their own CRM Web engagement solutions on Microsoft technologies. These Adxstudio capabilities enable any business process to become Web-facing.
We are dedicated to giving companies intelligent customer engagement solutions so they can deliver customer experiences that are personalized, proactive and predictive. We’re constantly looking at ways to deliver value to businesses and organizations around the world. Adding Adxstudio team members and technology components is another important step in this effort to deliver great value for our customers.
