As of November 19, 2019, Jennell Mott, formerly VP of Technical Solutions, has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer, and Alecia Aktabowski, formerly the PMO Manager, has been promoted to Director of Business Programs.

Jennell has been with Managed Solution since its inception, starting as the Business Operations Manager and holding many roles over the years, but what never changed was her work ethic and ability to adapt and react to the constant change that is technology. Because of this, she has seen continued success and growth at Managed Solution.

CEO, Sean Ferrel states, “On a personal note, I’m honored to announce this change. Jennell has been by my side since day one at Managed Solution and if it wasn’t for her amazing talent, we wouldn’t be where we’re at today. Jennell will be focused on the ongoing success of our business, our team of engineers, and making sure we’re delivering the exceptional experiences our clients deserve.”

In addition, Alecia Aktabowski who had been over-seeing the Project Management Office now holds the title Director of Business Programs. Due to Alecia’s incredible attention to detail, the ability to take something from ideation, process it and turn it into a reality, this role seems like a naturally perfect fit. Her new role will have a major focus on improving processes throughout the organization.

Sean is also very excited about this change, “Alecia has been so successful in developing the Project Managers and the processes that go into each part of the business so I can’t wait to see her truly shine in this new role.” Sean also adds, “I’m more excited than ever about our future and feel confident these changes will help facilitate even greater things for our team.”

San Diego, CA, October 4, 2019 – Managed Solution has supported and been involved with Computers 2 SD Kids for quite some time now. Managed Solution has donated their own old laptops and devices as well as introduced their clients to this non-profit organization to donate their equipment as well.

The laptops, desktops and other devices donated to Computers 2 SD Kids are refurbished, wiped clean and then distributed to families in need at local schools and around town. Children who use home computers perform better in school, however 23% of San Diego County families are without computers. Computers 2 SD Kids was formed to help fill that gap.

Recently, The WIT Network – San Diego, co-chaired by two Managed Solution employees, Tina Rountree, and Jennifer Benedict gave their time at one of the distribution locations to hand out the devices to local families.

Tina Rountree, Director of Sales at Managed Solution and co-chair to the WIT Network SD Chapter, commented, “Having the opportunity to help these kids do better in school through the use of technology is amazing. With the refurbished devices comes anti-virus software and Office 365 applications so the kids are really set up for success. I love empowering others through the use of technology, and if we can start them young, even better. It was a beautiful day to help out, and we look forward to the next one.”

Today, not only did we do that for each other, but more importantly, for the kids. The smiles on these families’ faces were totally worth it. To earn a Microsoft AEP authorization, partners must complete a test to prove their level of academic licensing and market expertise.

The AEP program is designed to train participating re-sellers on Microsoft’s Academic licensing, authorize them to purchase and resell Microsoft Academic licenses, and demonstrate to potential customers that they are approved and knowledgeable academic partners.

San Diego, CA, June 29, 2019 - For 11 years, Managed Solution has supported the Just in Time College Bound program by preparing ready-to-go laptops for young adults transitioning into college. Along with the laptops themselves, the Managed Solution team made sure they were equipped with the tools they need on those laptops as well as lifetime computer maintenance and repair.

The walk’s purpose was to fundraise on behalf of animals and help sustain critical initiatives like staying at zero euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals.

If we can even help just one furry friend, then it’s a job well done. Plus, what a great team building experience to get all our employees and their dogs together for a fun day at the park.”

The Walk for Animals 2019 took place in Liberty Station at NTC Park and included a pancake breakfast, doggie training, and a Vendor Village with other local non-profits there to support the cause.

They spent the afternoon working on their swing and testing their newly gained skills in a putting and virtual Closest-to-the-Pin Contest at GOLFTEC San Diego.

Jennifer Benedict, Enterprise Account Executive at Managed Solution and Co-Chair of the WIT Network San Diego, said: “We organized this event because business happens on the golf course and women are often left out. That’s why we wanted our members to work on their golfing skills, so they can feel empowered and be a part of the game.”

Suzanne LaTour, President and Owner of the GOLFTEC franchise for the San Diego Region, who sponsored the event, encouraged women to golf and join their colleagues on the golf course no matter their experience.

There were 4 GOLFTEC PGA instructors who were helpful in analyzing swings with their video technology and helped to adjust posture, foot placement, and overall swings. They graciously had a lot of patience with the beginners and even helped some more experienced golfers to perfect and get the most of their swing. Most of all, it was a fun afternoon filled with networking, gaining new golfing skills, and meeting new members so that next time women in tech are invited to a golf game, they’ll gladly accept the invitation.
