San Diego, CA. - On Thursday, June 29th, Managed Solution's Founder, Sean Ferrel, presented at AITP San Diego's 8th annual Cloud Conference. The "Cloud Computing and Beyond" conference held at Town and Country Mission Valley featured 400+ of IT professionals who are passionate about the professional growth and education of the SoCal IT community. Speakers throughout the day included thought leaders as well as peer use-cases on cloud, innovative technologies and Big Data/IoT.
Sean Ferrel talked about cloud marketplaces, brokerage and the long term effects of managing your customers cloud strategy. The public cloud offers a whole new world of reoccurring revenue for all of us!
Over the next several years’ public cloud management will be key to the success of both distributors and integrators alike. Cost management, brokerage, and overall management will be at the center of how we manage our customers and automation will allow us to quickly make informed decisions when working with providers.
Large Public Cloud Providers are just starting to gain maturity and most organizations are taking a deeper look at these utility models. While we all have our favorite cloud partners so do our customers and it’s important we look at cloud much like we look at purchasing airline tickets; compare all brands and make sure getting from point A to B is seamless and cost effective.

San Diego, CA – Managed Solution, a full-service SoCal based technology firm, shook up the fundraising scene hosting a new twist on game-packed charity golf tournament Friday to benefit American Cancer Society.

More than 30 sponsors, 100 golfers and 50 guests were in attendance at the 3rd Annual event to help raise over $10,000 for cancer research. Managed Solution has officially become a presenting sponsor of their Relay for Life event being held on April 29th in Oceanside.

The golf tournament kicked off with a Helicopter Ball Drop 50/50 Raffle where a bucket of numbered golf balls were dropped from a helicopter hovering over a designated hole. Fifty percent of the proceeds were donated to American Cancer Society while the other fifty percent provided a cash prize to the winner. The winning golf ball was #73 belonging to Mike Shapiro.

Premium sponsors for the Managed Solution 3rd Annual Golf Tournament included Microsoft (Presenting Sponsor) and Jersey Mike’s (Lunch Sponsor). Other Hole Sponsors included Aberdeen Group, Block Advisors, Cisco, DLK Investment, Firstlink Communication LLC, Sharp Business Systems, Sound, Stone Brewing, StorageCraft and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

In 2015, they raised over $6K for Just in Time Foster Youth and in 2016, they raised $10K for Computers 2 San Diego Kids. This marked the second year they hosted an Online & Live Silent Auction which brought in nearly $5K.

The tournament concluded with cancer survivor, Laura Gonzales, giving a touching speech about her battle with cancer into remission and an awards reception and taco bar buffet to congratulate the tournament winners. Microsoft Releases 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

By Susan Hauser as written on blogs.microsoft.com
At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
We care deeply about how we achieve that mission and our lasting impact on the world. Across the company, we are working to apply the power of technology to ensure corporate responsibility, safeguard human rights and protect our planet. This commitment is central to why many of our employees come to work every day, and it impacts the type of products and services we develop.
In our 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, which we published today, you will find information about our policies and business practices which reflect our commitment to making the planet a better place.
During fiscal year 2016, Microsoft made progress on a number of fronts:
·       Expanding our commitment to sustainability by establishing new energy goals, including having our data centers rely on a larger percentage of wind, solar and hydro power electricity over time.
·       Prioritizing inclusive design and accessibility in the development of our products and services to empower everyone, while deepening our inclusive culture at Microsoft.
·       Enhancing our companywide privacy principles and the Microsoft Privacy Statement to protect our customers’ personal data and their right to privacy.
·       Holding our suppliers accountable to human rights, labor, health and safety, environmental, and business ethics practices prescribed in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
·       Expanding economic opportunity to every corner of the planet through Microsoft Philanthropies’ three-year commitment to donate $1 billion in public cloud computing for nonprofits around the world.
·       Contributing to public policy discussions with a new book, “A Cloud for Global Good,” which lays out a roadmap of 78 specific policy recommendations to help ensure cloud computing is trusted, responsible and inclusive.
As part of our commitment to transparency, this report builds on Microsoft’s prior annual citizenship reporting, but is now designed to be a living reporting website where we can offer both the year-over-year data we traditionally provide as well as ongoing updates throughout the year on important developments on our efforts.
We take seriously our responsibilities to help the world achieve more and are committed to meeting our responsibility to address economic, social and environmental issues. We also recognize the importance of partnerships and value the opportunity to work with nonprofits, advocates, governments, academics, customers and employees to advance progress. Together, we can strengthen communities and ensure greater outcomes for all.
We will continue to dedicate ourselves to the challenges humankind faces, the role technology can play and the unique contributions Microsoft can make in cooperation with others around the world.
