ALS Foundation Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
C2SDK wants all children and their families in San Diego, regardless of their economic status, to be computer literate and have equal access to technology and the crucial educational, occupational, and financial resources that technology can provide. C2SDK accomplishes this through its Technology Assistance Program that recycles and refurbishes used computers and delivers them to low-income families throughout San Diego County.
Feeding America San Diego San Diego County’s largest distributor of donated food and the only Feeding America affiliate in the county. Working closely with 170+ partner agencies, local school districts, and a large network of volunteers, FASD provides 73,000 meals to children, families, and seniors in need each week. FASD is dedicated to creating a healthy and hunger-free San Diego through innovative programs and collaborative community partnerships. The organization’s mission is to feed the hungry; to advocate; to educate.
A non-profit organization to support foster youths with donation of technology tools including Laptops and printers. This is to assist with their continued skill development after they turn 18 years old. Each year, approximately 300 youth reach the age of 18 and transition out of the foster care. But with little or no support the odds and the statistics are stacked against them. Managed Solution invites supporters to once again invest to support the JIT programs that build self-sufficiency for over 500 youth each year.
In 1990, Mama’s Kitchen was established by a San Diegan who recruited volunteers to help prepare and deliver free lunches and dinners to neighbors too ill from AIDS to prepare their own meals. Mama’s Kitchen’s vision is for San Diego County residents with HIV/AIDS or cancer to enjoy full, happy and healthy lives by having access to the nutrition they need for an optimal response to medical care.
It takes a team effort to address homelessness. Managed Solution supports the Homeless Connect project. The San Diego Housing Commission leads the organization of effort to provide health screenings, flu shots, dental exams, haircuts, drug counseling, legal aid, housing counseling and other services for San Diego’s homeless families, veterans, seniors and disabled. This year alone, Homeless Connect brought together 54 organizations and 240 volunteers to help 660 homeless people.
With college as the goal, YALLA is the only comprehensive program in California that uses soccer to motivate child survivors of war, refugee, and immigrant youth to help rebuild their lives through education, leadership, and eco-therapy programs.
