Sean Ferrel Biography
(Short: Sean founded Managed Solution in 2002 after receiving his degree from the University of San Diego. Sean recognized the need for consultative IT services for small-to-medium and enterprise clients. With little capital, Sean and his dedicated team grew the company organically to success. Sean Ferrel graduated from The University of San Diego in 2000 with degrees in both Business and Information Services. Shortly after graduating Mr. Ferrel began working for TEKsystems, one of the largest IT placement firms in the United States. During his tenure with TEKsystems Mr. Ferrel worked as a Business Development Manager working on projects for major firms throughout the Southwestern United States both in the government and commercial sectors.
After departing TEKsystems, Sean decided to use his knowledge base and begin his own IT management firm and founded Managed Solution in 2002. At that time he started the business with the intention of providing solutions to businesses that needed consulting assistance on an hourly basis. It wasn’t long after he started though that Managed Solution expanded and quickly began working in the Managed Services and Systems Integration space. The services provided by Managed Solution have grown to be very broad and are based around managed services, cloud services, professional services and consulting services.
Since 2002, Mr. Ferrel has grown Managed Solution into a successful multi million dollar corporation with over 70 employees based in the Southern California region. Managed Solution has been named to the San Diego Business Journal’s list of Fastest Growing Privately held companies for 3 straight years and was also named to the 2010 CRN Fast Growth list. Mr. Ferrel has built strong partnerships with the Managed Solution vendors including being a Microsoft Managed Gold Partner, Top 1% Microsoft Cloud Providers Worlwide, Microsoft Partner of the Year 2018 in the category of Modern Workplace, Cisco Silver Partner, a Riverbed Certified Partner, a Frontline Partner and a Fortinet Certified Security Partner. These relationships allow Managed Solution first access to new products and ideas providing Managed Solution clients with the best products and engineering support available.
In January 2016, Mr. Ferrel launched StratoGator, the world’s only cloud service brokerage site where aggregation of top tier cloud providers in Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) can be compared.
In addition to running Managed Solution as the Chairman and Founder, Sean is also currently involved in many outside organizations including Vistage International, American Institute of Technology Professionals, Just In Time for Foster Youth, USD Alumni Board, and several others. Mr. Ferrel has been a featured speaker in many live seminars, teleconferences and radio engagements regarding technology within the Southern California business community.
Sean loves spending time with his family and puts his family first. Sean’s family includes his wife and two young boys, oh and yes a dog, cat and fish to go along with “our loving team”. Sean has a passion for the ocean and all of its amazing attributes. That being said, fishing is his passion and takes him all over the world as the seasons change.
