Every December, Managed Solution and their employees select a charitable cause to help families less fortunate. With our headquarters being in San Diego, a county of 3.1 million residents with 475,773 living in poverty, we selected the San Diego Food Bank. 15.2% of the population in San Diego, 138,334 being children face “food insecurity,” which means that little or no food is available at home. Many times, they will not know where their next meal is coming from.

Managed Solution is committed to investing not only in our clients and staff, but also in our community. So, to help address food insecurity in San Diego, Managed Solution is proud to announce that our team has brought in over 300+ food items, volunteered at The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and donated $1,500 in cash to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank!

Why the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank?
  • The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. The Food Bank serves approx. 400,000 people every month in communities throughout San Diego County. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 22 million pounds of food -- the equivalent of 18.3 million meals!
  • The Food Bank’s nonprofit partners collect food from its 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Miramar and distribute the food directly to people in need in their local communities. By acting as a central distribution point and through its own direct distributions the Food Bank and its nonprofit partners provide food to communities throughout the county’s 4,200 square mile radius.

The Fighting Hunger Games

Managed Solution encouraged staff to participate individually, but also created a point-system that helped earn additional company donations through participating in staff challenges, volunteer days, and more! The Fighting Hunger Games was Managed Solution’s Food and Fund Drive benefitting the San Diego Food Bank, running November 28th through December 30th. live well project glam it up for our girls

The Managed Solution team had a great time laughing for a cause last night at The Live Well Project's Comedy Show Fundraiser - Glam It Up For Our Girls

The Managed Solution team joined Jennell Mott and the Live Well Project for a hosted bar, comedy digs by Monique Marvez (as seen on Snoop Dogs Bad Girls of Comedy), and awesome raffle/auction prizes last night.
All proceeds benefit The Live Well Project, helping hundreds of at-risk, homeless and abused girls in the San Diego community. Help us get them off the streets, off drugs and into college.

Olson teamed up with WATG to design the above structure made entirely out of canned foods for Canstruction 2015, an annual fundraising event that combines the fun of a design/build competition with an ingenious way to help end hunger with the Orange County Food Bank. Managed Solution started supporting Just in Time for Foster Youth in June of 2010 through their College Bound Program by helping procure and distribute laptops and printers to JIT Youth who enrolled in their College Bound program.

Managed Solution made a commitment to JIT that they would also provide helpdesk support to College Bound youth for the term of their college career.

Today we are proud to say we are supporting more than 400 JIT youth!

The Managed Solution team is showing their support for College Bound 2015 by volunteering at their annual events and prepping 75 laptops that will be distributed to the College Bound Youth on June 20, 2015 10am-3pm @USD Campus.

Beginning in 2006, JIT awarded its first group of 8 college bound youth with resources for starting their college careers. Over the past nine years, College Bound has grown to help more than 400 youth toward success in college.

Each year, the Just in Time family comes together to give transitioning foster youth the resources and encouragement they need to begin a new life chapter as college students.

Participating youth connect with potential life-long mentors and successful JIT College Bound Alumni, receive laptops and printers, learn valuable tips on money management, legal matters and practical purchases, and pair up with a JIT Volunteer Shopper to buy essential dorm furnishings and school supplies.


Statistics show that 70% of foster youth express a desire to go to college, while only 13% attend and, at best, 3% graduate. For those who do attend, there is a 23% graduation rate compared to 45% for the general population.


While support for foster youth exists in the form of scholarships and other services, the statistics reveal persistent gaps in positive outcomes – gaps created by a lack of the basic resources required for college life and the focused and consistent encouragement of an extended family.


A recent evaluation of the 165 participants in College Bound cohorts from 2012-2014 showed that:

• 89% of participants remain enrolled in school

• 6 have graduated, including CSU San Marcos Alumnus and JIT Program Coordinator James Monroe

The Managed Solution team is participating in Rose Nose Day today by wearing Red Noses and making a donation to support fundraising efforts and awareness.


The Red Nose Day campaign began in April and ends today, on Red Nose Day - May 21, 2015, with a live three-hour special on NBC. The public can get involved in a variety of ways: donating tonight on the TV show, buying and wearing Red Noses, and by participating in fundraising activities organized through groups and associations. Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh. People across the country have come together to have fun and raise funds and awareness.
Money raised during the Red Nose Day campaign goes to the Red Nose Day Fund, which then distributes grants to charities that benefit children and young people in the US and some of the poorest communities in the world.
