Managed Proofpoint email security services are provided to support ongoing protection of the email environment.
Subject to the selected subscription, managed Proofpoint services may include oversight of email security operations such as monitoring, policy management, threat response, user administration, and incident investigation to support email protection and continuity.
Depending on the selected subscription, services generally include:
- Monitoring of Proofpoint dashboards, logs, and quarantine queues for indications of issues or threats, including spikes in blocked email attempts, phishing campaigns, and malware detections
- Investigation of significant security alerts or unusual patterns, such as high volumes of outbound spam from a compromised account or targeted phishing attempts, with appropriate action taken to help mitigate risk
- Regular configuration and adjustment of Proofpoint filtering and security policies, including management of anti spam and anti malware settings, tuning of phishing detection rules and Targeted Attack Protection TAP features such as URL defense and attachment sandboxing, updates to sender domain and IP allowlists or blocklists based on feedback, and configuration of content filtering, encryption, and data loss prevention policies to align with requirements
- Assistance with day to day Proofpoint operations, including support for access to quarantine to release legitimate blocked emails, response to inquiries regarding filtered emails, guidance on self service features, and troubleshooting of email delivery delays or failures attributable to the email security system
- Management of Proofpoint administrative settings, including administrative accounts and roles, directory synchronization with Microsoft 365 or Active Directory, and integration with the email environment such as MX records, mail routing rules, and connectors
- Coordination with Proofpoint support for technical issues requiring vendor intervention
