What’s Included

Managed Mimecast email security services are provided to support ongoing protection of the email environment.

Ongoing oversight includes monitoring, system maintenance, policy management, threat response, user administration, and incident investigation to support email protection and continuity.

Services include:

  • Monitoring of the Mimecast email security system to help ensure it remains operational and effectively filtering email, including review of system dashboards, security logs, and message queues to identify issues such as excessive queuing, processing delays, or filter malfunctions that may disrupt email flow or security
  • Investigation of alerts and incidents flagged by the Mimecast system
  • Containment of confirmed email borne threats, such as malware attachments or phishing campaigns, through quarantine or blocking, with notification provided as appropriate, particularly for severe threats
  • Regular review and update of Mimecast security policies, including adjustment of spam filtering sensitivity, management of block and allow lists at request, configuration and tuning of DLP and content filtering rules, and updates to advanced threat protection settings such as attachment sandboxing and URL protection as threats evolve and requirements change
  • Management of user and administrator accounts within the Mimecast portal, including provisioning of new users, deprovisioning of departed users, and management of role based administrator access, such as granting internal IT personnel the ability to monitor or release quarantined emails
  • Investigation and resolution of email delivery and security filtering issues, including release of legitimate emails incorrectly blocked or quarantined and adjustment of filters to help prevent recurrence
  • Where malicious emails are delivered to user mailboxes, identification of scope, assistance with remediation such as removing emails from mailboxes or prompting password resets, and guidance for users and administrators on handling suspicious emails
  • Support to help ensure Mimecast integrations remain operational, including directory synchronization, mail flow connectors between Microsoft 365 or Exchange and Mimecast, and any onsite synchronization components
  • Coordination with Mimecast support for issues requiring vendor intervention
